How do staff request service user and carer involvement in QI projects?

It is important to involve our service users and carers in quality improvement work as they play an integral part in improving our services.

Service user or carer identified by project team for QI project

The project lead will be in touch with service user/carer to have initial discussion of the project, discuss the process of getting involved in QI project. This will be followed up by our patient engagement team to discuss your involvement role and the job description to ensure it aligns with your interest, skills, knowledge, and experience. The patient engagement team will also provide ongoing support for service users and carers throughout the life cycle of the project.

Project teams needing support with identifying service user involvement

For project team who are unable to identify a service user for their QI project, teams can access various networks such as service users forums, carers forums, focus groups, local networks. Patient engagement team can support teams to recruit service user or carer to QI project
