Service User and Carers: How to get involved

How do service user and carer get involved in QI project?

Service users and carers, who are also referred to as expert by experience or people with lived experience can get involved in various ways and can choose their level of involvement on QI project.

Are you a service user or carer who would like to get involved in QI projects?

Service users can be involved in Q projects through Big I involvement or Little I involvement

Big I Involvement: Service users are involved directly and act as a full member of the QI project team - share decisions and responsibility of QI development and delivery. It is full and continuous partnership.

Little I involvement: Service users are involved and consulted regularly during the lifetime of the project. Asking people who use the service for ideas, what needs improving, and if they have noticed improvements. This could be through focus groups, feedback surveys and/or questionnaires. It is a periodic partnership.

Service users and carer can also get involved by sharing their expertise and knowledge at our trust boards meetings, at our committee or transformation board meetings and/or be part of QI training for service users and carers.

If you are interested in improving the quality of our service or have a specific area of interest where you would like to contribute, speak to a member of staff of the service or department.

What is Involvement Register?

We encourage our service users and cares who would like to get involved in improving quality of our services to join our ‘Involvement register’. The involvement register aim to capture people to help us plan, develop and improve our services and provide support in the process.
